The route from the back takes approximately 2 hours to complete.

Synshorn

Synshorn also features a mountain peak accessible via two different routes. If you opt for the hiking trail, it takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour one way. The hike is moderately challenging, following the same path up and down.

Alternatively, you can climb the mountain wall with a guided tour on the Via Ferrata. Synshorn Via Ferrata offers a spectacular experience for hiking enthusiasts, with the climbing path on the mountain wall rising 400 meters above the highway.

Whichever route you choose, the mountain peak rewards you with breathtaking views of Valdres, Bitihorn, and Vinstrevannet.

Rasletinden

Rasletinden

Rasletinden is one of the easiest 2000-meter peaks and has a marked trail all the way to the summit. The hike up takes approximately 3.5 hours and covers a distance of 8.3 km (one way).

The ascent to the summit typically takes around 2.5–3 hours (one way) and is rated as moderately challenging. However, the journey is incredibly rewarding. The trail runs alongside a lively river, occasionally graced by picturesque waterfalls. As you progress, the path gradually inclines, culminating in a steeper final stretch.

The trail is well-marked with stone markers and white 'V's, ensuring ease of navigation. Once you reach the summit, you'll be treated to a breathtaking panoramic view spanning the snow-capped peaks of Jotunheimen and vast expanses of Valdres.

Besseggen

Besseggen

Besseggen stands out as one of the country's most popular mountain excursions, offering spectacular views of the deep blue Bessvatnet and the emerald Gjendevannet. It's no wonder that over 60,000 adventurers tackle this route each summer.

This demanding hike spans 14 km, requiring a reasonable level of fitness to complete. Along the 1-kilometer ridge, some climbing is required, making mental preparation important for those afraid of heights, although there is no direct height exposure.

To start off the Besseggen adventure, travelers board a boat from Gjendesheim to the mountain's rear before traversing towards the front. Plan for the journey to take approximately 6–7 hours.

Knutshøe

This beautiful and challenging mountain hike lies at the eastern edge of Jotunheimen and is also known as the "tough little brother of Besseggen". The hike over Knutshøe is slightly easier than Besseggen, but it is still classified as demanding. The round trip covers 12.2 km and takes approximately 5-6 hours, with the ascent to the summit taking around 2 hours.

Embarking on this journey, hikers encounter varied terrain (including a sandy beach!), stunning scenery, and magnificent viewpoints. The trail requires some scrambling at the beginning and is best suited for experienced hikers. It is not recommended to hike Knutshøe in poor weather conditions.
