Beitostølen used to serve as both a summer mountain farm ('støl') and a permanent residence for farms in Beito. However, today it has transformed into a vibrant destination and a permanent home for around 500 residents, as well as a second home for approximately 1,500 cottage owners.

How to get to Beitostølen?
Beitostølen sits along FV51, which is a segment of the National Tourist Route above Valdresflya.
You can reach Beitostølen by car via the E16 from Oslo or Bergen. If you're coming from Trondheim on the E6, you can drive over Valdresflya, but keep in mind that parts of the road are closed during winter. Be sure to check traffic reports for Valdresflya before your journey.

You can also reach Beitostølen by bus, either with the Valdres Ekspressen from Oslo or the Øst-Vest Ekspressen from Bergen. For more information about schedules, visit JVB, our local bus company's website.
